Our Services
Financial instruments are popular because enterprises use them for financing and risk mitigation. Companies issue convertible bonds and notes to open new funding channels; take option or futures positions to reduce risk; grant employee stock options, financial guarantees and contingent consideration as incentives; and even profit from speculative trading.
Zhongchengda Appraisal helps clients quantify a wide range of financial instruments. Through in-depth analysis of underlying agreements, we tailor traditional models including Black-Scholes, binomial option pricing, Monte Carlo simulation and multi-scenario models, applying entity-specific parameters for instrument valuation.
Zhongchengda Appraisal helps clients understand the value of enterprises, equity or assets in the context of potential transactions, strategic decisions, tax planning or group restructuring. In transactions triggering public disclosure, ValQuest assists directors in fulfilling their fiduciary and statutory duties by assessing earnings quality, growth and margin assumptions, market positioning and operational efficiency.
In every enterprise valuation, we deeply understand the client’s business context and value drivers before selecting the appropriate methodology. We work closely with management to articulate the operating blueprint in numbers and combine financial metrics with industry trends.
Different classes of equity have distinct values, with varying control rights, dividend rights and asset distribution. ValQuest uses appropriate valuation models to allocate total equity value across preferred, common or other share types, taking into account liquidation preferences, redemption terms and conversion mechanisms.
As accounting standards evolve to clarify fair value reporting requirements, financial reporting increasingly requires various valuations. As part of annual impairment testing, ValQuest works with management to assess tangible and intangible asset values.
Expected credit loss (ECL) accounting under HKFRS/IFRS 9 is another topic expected to challenge entities preparing financial statements. Drawing on our experience and internal credit models, we help clients address ECL implementation challenges.
At Zhongchengda Appraisal, we select methods that best model the attributes and cash flow patterns of common intangible assets such as trademarks, customer relationships, patents and contracts. We help management determine specific and reasonable inputs, including applicable cash flow portions, useful lives, attrition rates and tax benefits.
For property valuation, our experienced chartered surveyors and certified valuers value properties based on recent market sales or leasing transactions. We consider the nature of the asset, including its physical attributes, location, surrounding environment and local competitive landscape.
Court proceedings may require expert valuation opinions—such as damages/loss quantification in shareholder disputes and Duxbury calculations in matrimonial cases.
Zhongchengda Appraisal experts have prepared reports for numerous court submissions. With our past courtroom experience, whether engaged as a single-party or joint expert, we fully understand the sense of responsibility and quality demands of our role.
